Poetry For Peace

What happens when poetry leaves the page, children leave the screen, and a garden becomes a stage for peace?

Inside Garden of Awakening, we built Transcendental Theater as a place where poetry could acquire something more than readers.

It could acquire voices.

Through our ongoing Poetry for Peace campaign, our children perform poetic plays written around war, conflict, peace, nature, and our shared humanity.

We wanted them not merely to hear adults talking about war and peace.

We wanted them to stand beneath the open sky and lend their own young voices to peace.

There is no digital backdrop here.

The trees are the scenery.
The birds provide the accidental soundtrack.
The wind occasionally interrupts the script.
And nature sits in the front row.
